nothing is more important than this sentence

„From Text to Machine” draws together works based on text, language and the word. The textual body of the project leaks from itself, yet seals simultaneously above itself. It locks up into the reality, the language, the colloquialism, the text and the letters of itself as a garden of converging roads. It leaks and inflicts transborder dataflows, deviation, shifting, evasion from the categorical system of the language.
„From Text to Machine” is a book expanded into space, a disrupted and manifold text, a dystopian structure. In the dichotomy of flow and enclosure the reader will navigate towards a new object, the mechanical self.
“From Text to Machine” consists of the works of twenty authors. “The difference is as follows: the work is concrete, occupying a portion of book-space (in a library, for example); the Text, on the other hand, is a methodological field.” (R. Barthes “From Work to Text”)
The works – which are actually also machines – and which use the text as their methodological field, have (while dispersed/extended into space) crossed the border of what is spoken and written in a “ordinary language”, which, even though speculating about the possibilities, does not cross it itself. (Ideas, such as Burroughs’ “the language is a virus from outer space”, the schizophrenia of the language of psychoanalysts, modern literature that has completely adopted the arbitrary approach.)
The text becomes into a machine there, where it starts leaking over the margin of the book, where the echo of speech is a meaning and where the complex relations between Lalangue and the Other become apparent. “The end of the anchor chain is the beginning of the singing.” (Ilmar Laaban)
An in-depth examination of topics such as intertextual translations, metaverbality, the material deterritorialization of text, the synchronization of codes, the metamorphosis of the author in the anagram-machine, a machine-hybrid with a typewriter-head and the body of macho in a text-labyrinth, and broken-word will be provided.
